ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENTS

Lines and wrinkles are usually the first sign of ageing that people notice and may be concerned about.

Different lines and wrinkles are treated in different ways depending on where they are and how deep they are at rest- but anti-wrinkle injections are our most commonly used treatment for lines and wrinkles and the most common cosmetic enhancement used world wide.

We also use this to treat medical conditions such as hyperhydrosis, blepherospasm (eye twitching), prevention of chronic migraines and many more.

  • Botulinum Toxin is the most common non surgical cosmetic procedure performed world wide, and is commonly used to treat and soften lines and wrinkles, particularly of the frown, forehead and crows feet/smile lines. It works by temporarily blocking the motor nerve terminal, thereby paralysing the muscle in which it is injected. You typically start to see results in the first 3-5 days after treatment however it takes 2 weeks to take full effect. Results typically last 3-4 months.

  • Having botulinum toxin is a fast, safe and effective procedure with little to no downtime required. It is usually done in a 30minute appointment. After treatment you can return to your normal daily activities, we just advise to not do any vigorous exercise for the rest of the day, avoid rubbing the area and facials/ face down massage for 24 hours.

  • Treatments are usually very well tolerated. Mild bruising may occur. Uncommon side effects are usually related to an undesired muscle receiving the botulinum toxin (e.g a droopy eyelid). With careful, accurate injection and sound anatomical knowledge, these adverse effects are extremely rare and they always resolve (the best and worst thing about botulinum toxin treatments is that it is temporary). Once the effect of botox has worn off, your muscles return back to their normal function.

  • Please see our “Prices” Page.

  • Those who are pregnant can not have Botulinum Toxin Treatment. Patients with neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis, motor neurone disease and eaton-lambert syndrome should not be treated with Botuinum toxin as it may make symptoms worse. Anyone with allergies to Botulinum Toxin or its constituents should not have Botulinum Toxin Treatment. All botulinum toxins contain serum albumin and so are not suitable for practicing Jehovas Witnesses.
